Isabel Naranjo De Candido is a PhD student at the MIT Nuclear Science and Engineering Department. Her research interests include cost modeling and design optimization of nuclear reactors. Her primary research work aims to optimize the operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of advanced reactors, including micro-reactors, small modular reactors and other innovative designs. She is exploring technical, technological and organizational solutions to reduce the impact of O&M on the levelized cost of electricity produced from nuclear power plants.
